Smell Identification Test Revised™ (UPSIT®)
The Smell Identification Test Revised™ is the 2020 revision of the classic Smell Identification Test™ (UPSIT®). This updated version maintains the high reliability and validity of the original test while incorporating a revised odor set designed to make the test more internationally applicable.
The revised smell identification test uses a number of updated odors while preserving the standardized testing format associated with the UPSIT®.
Updated Odors in the Revised Smell Identification Test
Several odors from the original Smell Identification Test™ were replaced in the revised version.
Odors removed from the original test include:
- Cheddar cheese
- Fruit punch
- Gingerbread
- Lime
- Paint thinner
- Root beer
- Turpentine
New odors included in the revised test are:
- Apple
- Baby powder
- Cotton candy
- Garlic
- Raspberry
- Rubber
- Sandalwood
