Description
Brief Smell Identification Test® (B-SIT®)
The Brief Smell Identification Test® (B-SIT®) is a 12-item smell identification test designed to provide a quick, standardized measure of olfactory function. Also known as the Cross-Cultural Smell Identification Test, the B-SIT® can be completed in less than five minutes, making it useful when a full-length smell test is not practical.
The test uses odors that are familiar across many cultures and is commonly used in population surveys, workplace studies, clinical settings, and research where a brief smell identification test is preferred. Percentile norms based on thousands of subjects are available in the B-SIT® Administration Manual to support scoring and interpretation.
Quick Smell Testing in Less Than Five Minutes
The B-SIT® provides a shorter alternative to the full Smell Identification Test® while still offering a structured approach to assessing smell identification ability. Its 12-item format makes it well suited for situations where testing time is limited or when smell function needs to be screened efficiently.
B-SIT® Scoring and Administration
For first-time orders, we recommend purchasing the
B-SIT® Administration Manual, which includes the scoring key.
The manual provides the percentile norms and administration guidance needed to properly use and score the test.
