Sensonics International

HADDON HEIGHTS, NJ — October 25, 2024 — Sensonics International is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its new Smell and Taste Evaluation Center. Headed by the world renowned olfactory expert Dr. Richard L. Doty, the facility is dedicated to advancing research and clinical care for individuals experiencing olfactory and gustatory disorders, particularly those linked to various neurological conditions.

Research has established a significant connection between the sense of smell and numerous neurological disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy, head trauma, Korsakoff’s psychosis, Huntington’s disease, schizophrenia, and Parkinson’s disease. Additionally, the loss of smell, which can be permanent in some cases, has been observed following COVID-19 infections.

Sensonics Smell and Taste Evaluation Center has been founded to provide comprehensive state-of-the-art quantitative evaluations and treatment suggestions to referring physicians for individuals suffering from chemosensory deficits. The Center aims to enhance accessibility to specialized care, offering a telehealth feature that allows patients to receive evaluations, and explore treatment options with their physicians from the comfort of their own homes, regardless of location.

We are proud to open the Smell and Taste Evaluation Center, which represents our commitment to improving patient care and advancing research in the field of olfaction and gustation. The new evaluation center will serve as a focal point for clinical evaluation, research, and education, aimed at addressing the growing need for understanding and treating olfactory and gustatory disorders.
