Individuals

Sensonics understands that the health and safety of your employees is top of mind. Temperature checks, as a way of screening potential virus carriers, have been incorporated in most every organization. But, what about those that are not experiencing fevers? It is our mission to continuously adapt to public health needs, and create tests that can help individuals identify if they have a smell or taste problem.

A quick, inexpensive smell test will help monitor individuals that may show very mild symptoms, such as a sudden loss of smell and taste. Interestingly, individuals may not recognize they have a smell problem until they are tested. The idea of smell and taste testing may be new to many, but Sensonics has been on the forefront of chemosensory testing for over 35 years. Bring back your workforce with confidence; make smell testing a part of your daily screening procedures.

The Sensonics 8-Odor Smell Test is our newest scratch and sniff test. It incorporates eight familiar odors in which the participant scratches, sniffs, and chooses from a multiple choice selection, which option they think the odor smells most like. Answers are conveniently provided on the back of the card for quick scoring. This test is ideal for employee screening as it gives the individual just enough opportunities to identify an odor. Whereas, other tests only provide one odorA score of five (5) or below suggests smell impairment and the individual may need to undergo further testing. Approximately five minutes are needed to complete the test.

Sensonics does not suggest eliminating temperature screenings. Rather incorporate a second measurement to ensure symptoms are identified, not otherwise detected using just a thermometer. Please click the link provided to view guidelines on how to implement smell screening into the workforce.
